At 33, Jorge Calvo has emerged as one of Costa Rica’s most seasoned mixed martial artists. Known in the cage as Georgie, he fights out of Athletic Advance in San Jose, standing 5'7" (170 cm) with a professional record of 19-6-0. Over six bouts he has built a reputation for resilience and an unrelenting pace that belies his flyweight frame.
Calvo currently sits 34th in the Central & South America MMA rankings and also appears in the standings for both Latin America and Mexico. His place on each list reflects a willingness to travel for competition—he has fought at least twice under each regional banner in his last six outings, and at least once at flyweight in his last two fights.
